WHO IS IV-FROG?

Illinois Valley Fire Resiliency Oversight Group

We’re your neighbors.  Many of us are volunteers.  Most of us are landowners ourselves.  We’ve lived through the terror of Josephine County wildfire before and we’re realistic enough to know it’s only a matter of time before it strikes our communities again.  Next time may be worse.  We know that wildfire preparedness has worked well in other areas and we’re determined to bring those “best-practices” to the Illinois Valley.

IV-FROG Mission Statement

Illinois Valley Fire Resiliency Oversight Group (IV-FROG) is a community-led collaborative dedicated to decreasing our risk of catastrophic wildfire by stewarding forested lands into more resilient and fire-adapted landscapes.

IV-FROG is not alone. In no way are we a political organization, but we’ve partnered with a wide variety of local, state and federal organizations to bring wildfire preparedness to our communities. Those partners include: Illinois Valley Community Development Organization (IVCanDo), Illinois Valley Fire District, Illinois Valley Soil and Water Conservation District, Bureau of Land Management, Cave Junction City Council, Grayback Forestry, Oregon Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB), Tolowa Dee-ni' Nation, NPS National Park Service -  Oregon Caves NMP, Oregon Department of Forestry, Illinois Valley Watershed Council, Rogue Valley Integrated Fire Plan, KS Wild, Lomakatsi, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, OSU, Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center (SOREC), Rogue Forest Partners, USFS Wild Rivers Ranger District, Office of the State Fire Marshal, Wilson Biochar and Pacific Ridgeline Forestry. You are invited to join us as partners in this conservation effort.

This website as well as our IV-FROG media and marketing materials has been funded through a generous grant from The Roundhouse Foundation.
